The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking an experienced Press Secretary. Ideal candidates will be highly-motivated, proactive and aggressive in garnering national press coverage, work well in a team environment, detail-oriented, excellent writers, and be strategic under pressure. Additionally, ideal candidates will have a deep network of reporter relationships across Capitol Hill, television, radio and print, and be able to develop new relationships and create new opportunities for the Senator-elect. This position reports to the Communications Director.

Primary Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, executing communications plans, engaging on-the-record with members of the media, drafting materials distributed by the communications shop, interacting with legislative and field office staff to gather relevant policy information and distill it for a media audience; assisting with staffing the Senator for media interviews and other public engagements as needed, and supervising and training junior communications staff.
Necessary Qualifications
A minimum of 4-8 years of experience and a track record as an on-the-record spokesperson are required. Prior experience in congressional offices, the executive branch, and/or campaigns is strongly preferred. California ties and language skills (particularly Spanish) are a plus and should be noted.

Salary:
This is a full-time in-person position based in the Washington, D.C. office. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for all Senate employee benefits.
