The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking a Special Assistant based in the Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego or San Francisco office, and under the direction of the State Director and Deputy State Director, Senator Adam Schiff is seeking a detail-oriented, discreet and team-focused individual for the position of Special Assistant.

Primary Duties:
- Staffing and driving the Senator-elect on travel throughout the state
- Serving as main coordinator while Senator-elect is traveling throughout the state
- Assisting with the coordination of security for all travel
- Manages logistical details for events and meetings Senator-elect attends
- Assists with appointments/scheduling
- Assists with other duties as assigned
Depending on experience level, ideal candidates will be able to take on additional portfolios and work when the Senator-elect is not traveling in state.
Necessary Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and experience in a legislative office, political operation or other equivalent environment is preferred. Military and/or law enforcement background is strongly preferred, and should be noted in the application.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy, tact and compassion
- Ability to communicate effectively with Senator, senior staff, elected officials, outside organizations and others
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Work in a public-facing way that requires frequent interaction with high-level people
- Has the ability to travel and work long and unpredictable hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve under pressure
- The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative
- The ability to work independently and use good judgment
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of personal computers
- Multi-language skills a plus

Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego or San Francisco office (CA)
Salary:
This is a full-time in-person position. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for health insurance, student loan repayment and all Senate employee benefits.
