The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking a Constituent Services Representative based in the Los Angeles office.

Primary Duties:
Under the direction of Senator-elect Schiff’s Constituent Services Director, the Constituent Services Representative is responsible for responding to in-person, written and telephone inquiries from constituents. A Constituent Services Representative in Senator-elect Schiff’s office serves as an advocate for constituents with federal agencies such as the Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security Administration, Veterans Administration and a variety of federal, state and local government agencies.
Constituent Services Representatives must be detail oriented, work independently, and maintain a professional demeanor and attitude when dealing with constituents and demonstrate patience and compassion when handling sensitive constituent problems.
The Constituent Services Representatives may be asked to attend and/or help organize meetings and assist with community outreach projects. Constituent Services Representatives will be expected to assist with all office responsibilities including answering phones, computer input, administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2-3 years experience in a legislative office or other equivalent environment is required.
- The ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy, tact and compassion
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving abilities
- The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative
- The ability to work independently and use good judgment
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of personal computers
- Multi-language skills a plus
Location:
Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego or San Francisco office (CA)
Salary:
This is a full-time in-person position. Salary is commensurate with experience, with a starting salary of $60,000. This position is eligible for health insurance, student loan repayment and all Senate employee benefits. Senator-elect Schiff’s office is an equal opportunity employer.
