The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking an energetic, community-oriented regional director based in the Fresno, San Diego or San Francisco office, and under the direction of the State Director and Deputy State Director.

Primary Duties:

  • Supervises the regional office and directs staff assignments
  • Acts as the Senator’s senior liaison to all government, community and constituent groups and leaders in assigned geographic and issue areas  
  • Advises the Senator on all community, legislative, or other developments in assigned geographic or issue areas
  • Accompanies the Senator on road trips in assigned geographic areas or relating to assigned issue areas
  • Coordinates with senior State and DC staff on issues specific to the region
  • Works with the Senator’s Scheduling and Communications Teams to ensure media coverage

Necessary Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher or at least 5 years experience in a legislative office or other equivalent environment is required. Previous experience managing individuals strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the concerns and issues specific to the office of interest
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Flexible schedule; the ability to attend early morning, evening and weekend events
  • The ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy, tact and compassion
  • Strong writing skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative
  • The ability to work independently and use good judgment
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Multi-language skills a plus

Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego or San Francisco office (CA)


Salary:

This is a full-time in-person position, with significant travel expected.  Salary is commensurate with experience, with a starting salary of $75,000.  This position is eligible for health insurance, student loan repayment and all Senate employee benefits.
