Regional Director (CA)

The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking an energetic, community-oriented regional director based in the Fresno, San Diego or San Francisco office, and under the direction of the State Director and Deputy State Director.

Primary Duties:

Supervises the regional office and directs staff assignments
Acts as the Senator’s senior liaison to all government, community and constituent groups and leaders in assigned geographic and issue areas
Advises the Senator on all community, legislative, or other developments in assigned geographic or issue areas
Accompanies the Senator on road trips in assigned geographic areas or relating to assigned issue areas
Coordinates with senior State and DC staff on issues specific to the region
Works with the Senator’s Scheduling and Communications Teams to ensure media coverage

Necessary Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree or higher or at least 5 years experience in a legislative office or other equivalent environment is required. Previous experience managing individuals strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the concerns and issues specific to the office of interest
Strong public speaking skills
Flexible schedule; the ability to attend early morning, evening and weekend events
The ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy, tact and compassion
Strong writing skills
Problem solving abilities
The ability to exercise a high degree of initiative
The ability to work independently and use good judgment
The ability to maintain confidentiality
Multi-language skills a plus

Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego or San Francisco office (CA)

Salary:

This is a full-time in-person position, with significant travel expected. Salary is commensurate with experience, with a starting salary of $75,000. This position is eligible for health insurance, student loan repayment and all Senate employee benefits. Senator-elect Schiff’s office is an equal opportunity employer.
