The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking a Counsel to serve as his lead staffer for oversight and investigations. Deep experience conducting oversight work across the Executive Branch and/or the U.S. Congress is required for this senior-level position. This position may also oversee a policy portfolio. Candidates should not just be able to conduct thorough oversight, but also teach others how to do so. Law degree required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the Senator-elect and his team to develop an oversight strategy and priorities, leading investigations, and coaching other team members on conducting effective oversight in their portfolios. Other responsibilities may include advising the Senator-elect about issues in the policy portfolio, representing the Senator-elect in meetings with high-level representatives, developing new and existing policy priorities with an eye towards bipartisan success, and working with stakeholders both in state and DC to advance policy priorities. Additionally, candidates should be interested in delving into complex legal matters and questions from a Senator-elect well-versed in the law.

Salary:

This is a full-time in-person position. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for all Senate employee benefits.
